Sara Bernardini

Research Associate at King's College London

I am a research associate in the Planning Group at the Department of Informatics of King’s College London. My research interests are in the area of artificial intelligence and include autonomous intelligent agents, automated planning for temporal and metric domains, planning domain modelling languages, and domain-independent search control. My current project focuses on automated plan-based policy learning for surveillance applications, such as search and tracking.
Before joining King's, I was a research fellow at the London Knowledge Lab where I was part of an interdisciplinary team that focused on building an intelligent virtual agent for helping autistic children develop social communication skills.
Previously, in 2005 – 2007, I was a research scientist at NASA Ames Research Center where I worked on developing autonomous planning agents for space mission operations.
I received my PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Trento (Italy) and my Master Degree in Computer Science and Engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Italy).
